Sustainability

We are delighted to have been recognised as plastic-free champions by Plastic Free Stamford for being an environmentally friendly cake shop.

We pride ourselves on trying to do our bit to reduce our carbon footprint and encourage sustainability.

We minimise our use of single use plastics as much as we can.

We only serve drinks in glasses, cans or paper cartons and we use compostable take away coffee cups + lids (made with compostable bioplastic derived from plant sugars from reclaimed sugarcane).

We use paper bags and card boxes, and we recycle refuse.

Our electricity is sourced from 100% renewable sources, like solar, wind and water.

We source as many products as we can from local independent suppliers.

We use 100% natural ingredients, and we always use free range eggs.

We have our own organic growing garden for healthy seasonal produce and edible flowers, with no need for any packaging.

We have teamed up with Silver Oak coffee (@silveroakcoffee) roasters. Not only do we love their coffee, we share their values. Susan and Bruce source and roast high quality beans from a traceable and sustainable origin. As an independent, local business, they can ensure the quality of every batch. All our hot drinks are made using filtered water, with either cows or locally sourced oat milk.

We use KOKOA Collection, single origin award winning hot chocolate.

The first step to solving a problem is acknowledging that it exists. We have a strong desire to be a company that demonstrates its commitment to the environment and our local community, and we aim to keep improving.
